Finally, a book about teaching real history and protocol. I was so hooked. The way Prophet instructs feels like I’m in his class and he’s, my professor. I highly recommend his book, Historizing the MC Culture.
Thank you for taking the write to finish your monograph. It was a great read. I dare say it was almost a SCARY read. I have not seen the 1% side, choosing to be in the "Slower Traffic Keep Right" lane. But there were some points that I'm glad to see you articulate because I was feeling alone about some of this stuff. An example: A telling of motorcycle community without the Ruff Ryders is an incomplete history. They arguably brought more contemporary Black folx into motorcycling than any other force prior to Biker Boyz. Where we diverged was more to perspective and the experiences that you have, but all in all, this book was on point! Thanks again for writing it (I bought the ebook and a hard copy), and I hope the motorcycle community is better for it. Blessings!
Oh my god, this book (Reshaping Ohio) should be mandatory reading for everyone interested in Black women and their role in American history.
I love the approach that Prophet takes with this book. He isn’t attacking people as they do on social media. Rather, he’s weaving history with perspective. Just reading the table of contents had me excited to get started. I couldn’t put this book down
Light and Consciousness is not only a book about history, but its about history that most of us are unaware of. In each chapter I read, I learned something new. I consider myself educated to a high degree, yet I learned more from this book than from the last several books I've read. The information contained in this book is ground-breaking, and deep. I simply didn't know, and now I do.
